Al-Araby Club has announced that its elections nominations are to start on July 18th and will continue for 10 days. Applications for nominations are to be received to run elections at the Ordinary General Assembly which will be held on August 31st.
All await the start of the nominations so as to get a view of the elections and lists of those running them. There is a dominant feeling that these are to be heated elections particularly since there are until now two electoral lists which have announced that they are running for elections. The first is that of the current president, H.E. Sh. Khalifa Bin Hamad Bin Jabr Al Thani along with Abdullah Jumu’a Al-Hatmi as his deputy. The Second list includes the coming candidate Abdul-Azia Al-Sulaiti and Fahad Abdullah Al-Mal as his deputy.
Furthermore, the Membership and Elections Affairs Committee has, in this context, requested from GA members to update their data. This includes the member’s personal photo, his phone number as well as a copy of his ID Card. Such updating is required to have recorded members’ full data and is requested only in respect to active members of the Club.
The Committee has further clarified that the process is not related to attendance of the GA meeting but rather only to updating the data. The Committee consists among other members of Ahmed Hela Al-Khulaifi, Ahmed Al-Sayed and Hamad Al-Sulaiti. These were chosen during the latest GA meeting held last year to prepare for the upcoming GA as well as to supervise the process of preparing the list of those members who are entitled to attend the OGA meeting.
