The Strategic Orientations in the Field of Youth
Achieving the central objective of development, which is to expand the choices and freedoms of youth, requires the empowerment of young people, since empowerment is the pillar that allows them to expand their participation in public life, in sustainable development, and in decision-making to meet their aspirations and ambitions.
The strategic goals of the youth sector interact with the United Nation’s vision that sees in the youth’s empowerment, advancement and participation an end in itself, as well as a mean to build a better world.
Through its strategy and plans, the Ministry of Culture seeks to empower youth, develop their abilities and expertise in the fields of work in general, and the areas of public work in particular, through the creation of spaces and opportunities for the youth to play a central role in leading the youth sectors in a manner that serves the aspirations of the youth and their goals, towards an effective role in achieving sustainable development at the state level.
In this context, it is essential to involve youth in the decision-making process at the level of youth and sports sector, and to establish the necessary administrative and organizational structures that enable youth to play their role effectively.
It is essential to ensure the active participation of youth in all spheres of society and decision-making processes at the national, regional and international levels and to encourage them, and to ensure taking the necessary measures to achieve equal opportunities for young women and men by creating the necessary conditions to perform their civil duties.
The pursuit to empower youth by creating spaces that ensure their participation in public life is specifically aimed at young people, in the context of promoting a general work culture. And that at the general level as a culture, and at the private level as an affiliation to the youth centres and activating the participation within the mechanisms adopted by these bodies.
The participation of the members of thesociety in general, and the youth in particular, comes within their national responsibility to ensure the renaissance of their country and to achieve sustainable development according to Qatar’s National Vision 2030, and National Development Strategy 2018-2022.
The main objective of sustainable development is to ensure the sustainability of the well-being of citizens by ensuring a decent form of livelihood despite changing the sources of the State’s wealth. Real wealth is not underground in the oceans, in gas fields and oil wells, it is in the renewed investment in human energies. Real wealth also lies in the leadership elites, at different levels, especially youth.
